Thanks for your help (and patience!), but that didn't work - assuming I've trimmed the script correctly, that is. If I understand the (Korean) error message right, it's something like: Error #1024 VBScript compilation error. End sub. (path to script) Line: 284, Column: 0 The two places I trimmed now...

Er... not set to read-only, and not open. I tried restarting MM a couple of times, but didn't think to reboot the pc. I'll try that when I get to the office again on Monday. Edit: OK, so I thought I might as well try on the computer I have at home rather than wait until Monday. Same problem, but at ...

Hi, I've used both this script and Tagging Inconsistencies on another PC which died on me. Various circumstances meant it took me quite a few months to get MM up again on another computer. I just tried installing the latest versions of your scripts, but they throw the same error on startup: Error # ...

Thanks, Teknojnky. I guess my question implied that they might be stored in a place somehow unreachable by MM (on the external HDD) since they keep going back to the default. The follow-up question is therefore: why aren't new UI preferences stored in the registry? I'd hate to muck around in there e...

Where are prefs stored?
I used to have a sweet setup: MM installed at home and at the office, but music and the MediaMonkey folder (db, ini etc) on a USB hard drive. That way, both at work and at home, I can listen to all my music and have playcounts and -times registered. Then that drive died. :o Now, when I am trying to ...

@Peke: It gets worse. After I wrote the post below, I tried once more to connect the HDD, and now it does not even start spinning. It is most definitely dead. @Everyone: I did open the database in MS Access, only to get the message that the database was read-only. A lightbulb went off over my head, ...

@Peke: The drive was dropped on the floor, and I thought it was OK since it was powered off/not spinning, but I guess the casing was really bad (it was a cheap drive). So, the next time I connected it, it started making creaky noises. I immediately started copying off data, since I wasn´t sure my ba...

Restoring DB and music after HDD crash
I used to have all my music on an external HDD mapped to the M: drive on my PC. Then that HDD died on me! Fortunately I had backup, so getting my Monkey back up should be easy. Or so I thought... I set up my PC with a SAN and mapped it to the M: drive. Then I mapped "My Documents" to...

Just wanted to add my pleas to this thread. I just switched to Mac - the only thing holding me back was in fact the lack of MM! I guess I will be using Parallels to run MM, but it´s a clumsy solution, requiring a virtual XP machine to always be running (yes, I always listen to music at my computer)....
