yes, I saw that AFTER I posted this in here, based on the suggestion of using the comments field for data collection. The messages crossed in space.

Can MagicNodes use field data from comment field?

I've been directed here from my discussion in the help forum. I'm interested in the ability to create a MagicNode using data culled from the Comments section. I'm currently using all three custom data fields for other information and would like to store additional information. My intention would be ...

AGain, please pardon my ignorance, but in order for MagicNodes to work the data I want to sort by would have to be stored in some way first, right?

Artist A + Artist B = Artist C. Can we keep track in MM?

Greetings gurus, I'm not even sure, in my limited knowledge of how databases work, whether what I'm asking is even possible. There's a thread here which talks about something similar but I believe what I'm asking about is a little different. I listen to a lot of underground electronic music and ther...

Bex, thanks for reply, how do I use the code? I tried pasting exactly as you wrote into a new Magic Node but it said it wasn't a valid mask. Then I tried appending it as so: Added Last Week\<date added>AddedLastWeek|SQL filter:DateDiff('d',Songs.DateAdded,Now)<7\<date added|sort order:desc>\<folder>...

Creating a node for recently added items

If I was able to see a node which only listed music added in the last week or the last month, I understand that I would use the Date Added field in the mask. I tried one such thing: Date Added\<date added> but I need a qualifier to limit the view to only the last month or the last week. I'm unclear ...

It's me again! I have a habit of working out a solution only AFTER I've given up and asked for help. ;) Go figure. So - I backed up my MM database and then removed the field names from the Custom Fields area of Tools > Options > Appearance. I then reverted my MagicNodes script to its original versio...

OK, now we're getting somewhere! Trixmoto & Steegy, thanks for the recommendation for Textpad - I installed it and used the "Go To" function and added the ' character to each line the error message generated and now MM loads without any MagicNodes errors. I'm perplexed, though, because...

Hi Pablo & others, At long last I am returning to this thread to try and get Magic Nodes working again. I was in the midst of moving back from Hawaii when I last posted in here; now I'm settled and would love to get this working as its functionality is exactly what I've been looking for. I'm usi...

Alas, my problem stems from a boneheaded maneuver - I needed to reformat my external music drive (to remove partition - library's getting so big) and neglected to back up the MM database along with my tracks. I did a search last night across all hard drives and found a backup created on 12/11/05 whi...

The same end result for me - I seem to have lost my playlists too. I have a backup database from a few weeks ago but none of the playlists show up in there either. Any word on this/

*bump*

I'm still encountering the same error every time I open MM with the MagicNode script installed. Might there be any other suggestions of what to try?

I'm jumping onto this thread because I'm still having some trouble understanding where this system is going awry. I hope someone can spell it out for me. This is the system below I've used to bring new tracks into my library. The tags were retained for only a few tracks so I'm wondering if I'm missi...
