Unsynchronized Tags
I have searched extensively but was not able to come up with answer to this question. I haves done the following:
1. Made sure my mp3 files were not "read only"
2. Cleaned my tags (both ID3v1 and ID3v2)
3. Synchronized Tags
4. Rescanned my library using "Update track Info from Tags when rescanning Files" and have un-selected "Only for files with change timestamp or size"
But yet after all that - under "files to edit" and "unsynchronized" node it lists more than 95% of my files as unsynchronized.

1. MM4 Gold 4.1.7.1739
2. Windows 7 64-bit
3. 8GB RAM, Intel X9650
2. Windows 7 64-bit
3. 8GB RAM, Intel X9650
Could You repeat process with only writing ID3v2?
Best regards,

I think he means clean id3v1 tags and then sync (with only id3v2 tags enabled in the MM options).

That's what I do... I assume it has something to do with ID3v1 tags having limited length, and tags which have longer names than the id3v1 tag allows (so it always show as 'unsynced').

do you have utf or ascii enabled in the id3v2 tags option?

Sorry to bother you A_Disciple. I can't replicate but from all that you write it looks that you really have problem. Please send Step By step Description (of all that you have tried) and smaller file to us.

Peke no bother at all. I appreciate the help. Here are the steps I have taken:
1. Have selected that only ID3v2 tags are enabled in the MM options
2. Advanced Tag Management-> Clear ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags
3. Advanced Tag Management-> Synchronize Tags
4. Options-> Library select/tick "Update track Info from Tags when rescanning Files" and un-tick "Only for files with change timestamp or size"
5. Rescan files

3. Advanced Tag Management-> Synchronize Tags

OK Thx will check that.

Hi,
Any news on this problem? Like A_Disciple, I cleaned my old tags and tried to synchronize new tags from the database, but nothing happens.
I also noticed another thread from a couple of months back with the same problem, still unresolved: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... onize+tags
It's really a big problem for me, because the cleaned tracks are now tag-less, which means Last.fm won't scrobble them!

OK, that was (partly) a false alarm. My tracks are not tagless, fortunately!
However, I am experiencing two separate problems associated with tags/tag synchronization.
1. Tags are being synchronized by MediaMonkey.
I checked this by changing the tags of a track in MP3Tag, then synchronizing it in MediaMonkey, and then going back to MP3Tag and refreshing the view of the track. The tags had changed to what they are in MediaMonkey.
So, the tag synchronization does work, but the problem is that tracks that are synchronized keep showing up in the node for unsynchronized tags.
If it helps, all the tracks in this list are wma.
However, I also have lots of wma tracks that are not in the list!
2. After cleaning the tags, as mentioned in my previous post, I have a problem with Last.fm not scrobbling some tracks.
Details:
1. The Last.fm client says the track does not have any ID3 tags.
2. However, the track does have ID3 tags, as seen in MP3Tag.
3. It is a MediaMonkey-related problem, because if I play the same track in foobar, it scrobbles.
2. The problem only affects one artist AFAIK (but then I just discovered this, may be more): Björk.
3. The problem is not the ö, because Röyksopp scrobbles fine.

You did clean and synchronize the tags for the bjork tracks?
It's not uncommon that MediaMonkey keeps showing a few tracks in unsynchronized tracks. This can be due to a variety issues, but it might help if you send one of the smaller tracks for analysis.
You could also try to delete one of those unsynchronized tracks from the library (not the PC) and scan it in again, does it still show in the unsynchronized tracks?
