Manual tagging

Post by DENNIS596 »

Hi,
I use Amazon to manual tagg, Copy and Paste and it works quite well, but, although it adds the artist to WMP it does not add the track so the track still stays as Track I,2 etc.Any advice would be much appreciated on solving my problem.
Thanks
Dennis

I'm not sure what you mean by "copy and paste".

The best way to tag from Amazon is to select an album in MM,
select "Autotag from Web" (CTRL+L) and make sure that Amazon is selected as the source.

You must also select the checkmarks next to the element you wish to tag.
If it's unchecked, that information will not be added to the tag.

So for the track title - assuming that the song titles for that particular album are available - you
need to make sure that the checkmark next to "Tracks" is selected.

Finally, make sure that the setting "Update tags when editing properties" is checked
(in Tools -> Options -> Library -> Tags and Playlists)

Thanks for the reply,
I find it frustrating trying to find the correct albumn with auto tag so I go to Amazon and find the albumn myself, open up the track list and copy and paste onto the title and artist.
I have since found the if i copy the title onto the file name, after a bit of editing,it does what i want it to do.WMP library to read the same as MM library.
It is possible to change the file names without having to copy, again, the titles.

Thanks again

Dennis
