Release WASAPI Exclusive Mode To Another Application

Post by Stigg »

If I am running MM in WASAPI exclusive mode, can I temporarily turn off exclusive mode to allow sound to another app (e.g. my browser) without closing down MM?
If I stop MM when it is playing in exclusive mode, it still won't allow sound to another application unless I shut down MM.

Any solution to this?

Thanks.

It is the way Wasapi Exclusive mode - Event Style works.

A workaround is disabling Event Style (Wasapi Advanced setting), this way MM release the audio device when you stop playing. Please note that Pause is not enough.

That is more than a workaround. Thanks.
