Auto-Organizing files

Post by ChromeToaster »

I'm coming from MusicBee where there's a way to create auto-organization rules using exceptions. With MediaMonkey, I'm having issues with getting any exceptions to take. All I can get working is this first $if statement:
$if(<Album Artist>=Various Artists,<Track#:2> - <Artist> - <Title>)

I'm trying to organize my collection in the following order with the folder hierarchy setup as J:\Music\<Album Artist>\<Album>...
Normal Albums: <Track#:2> - <Title>
Full Path Example:
J:\Music\Arcade Fire\Funeral\07 - Wake Up.mp3

Various Artists: <Track#:2> - <Artist> - <Title>
Full Path Example:
J:\Music\Various Artists\Stars- Do You Trust Your Friends\02 - Montag - Set Yourself On Fire.mp3

Singles: <Artist> - <Title>
Full Path Example:
J:\Music\Various Artists\Singles\Carina Round - Girl And The Ghost (Puscifer Remix).mp3

Holiday Music: <Artist> - <Title>
Full Path Example:
J:\Music\Various Artists\Holiday Music\The Pogues - Fairytale Of New York.mp3

To achieve this I tried:
$if(<Album Artist>=Various Artists,<Track#:2> - <Artist> - <Title>),$if(<Album>=Singles,<Artist> - <Title>),$if(<Album>=Holiday Music,<Artist> - <Title>,<Track#:2> - <Title>

The result was a lot of commas and additional layers to the name scheme. :(

So I'm lost trying to get multiple $if statements to work together. I've looked at a number of examples but can't make much sense out of them.

Thanks in advance for any help!

It is the way to do this.

In $if(<Album Artist>=Various Artists,<Track#:2> - <Artist> - <Title>),$if( you're closing the first if, instead you need to nest the next if inside (in the else condition).

So
$if(<Album Artist>=Various Artists,<Track#:2> - <Artist> - <Title>,$if(........................))
