Startup monitoring - hungry for resources?

Post by terrypin »

I'm fairly sure this has only become significant since updating to 4.1.2.1798 (Gold). On starting MM, during the initial monitoring/scanning, I have great difficulty making any other application active. As the scanning takes several minutes that's frustrating. Anyone else seeing similar behaviour or have any idea as to its possible cause here please?

You mean 4.1.(1)2?

Have you run Optimized (Complete) lately?

Thanks both.

Pleased to say that after running Optimized (Complete) normal service was restored.

(Relieved too, as preparing and sending a log report sounds rather complicated.)

Thanks for the reminder about my sig.

BTW, why such a complex number? Eight digits to identify a version?

Last 4 digits indicate the build number (especially important as beta builds exist). The other indicate how important the update is. The first digit is a big upgrade, sometimes a complete re-write (like MediaMonkey 5), but with lots of new features and changes. A second digit update is an update with some new features/changes. A third digit update is a bug fix update, generally no new features are included. So a 4.1.11 to 4.1.12 update is a bug fix update. A 4.0.1 to 4.1.0 update will have some new features included.
