Downloaded Music Files Will Not Play
Just started using Media Monkey. Music files from CD's will play but other files provided by promoters will not play on Media Monkey. Can you help? The help information that I found di not seem useful.
Re: Downloaded Music Files Will Not Play
What file types are they, could they have DRM protection and which version of MediaMonkey?

Start here: https://www.mediamonkey.com/support/kno ... dont-play/
Sometimes they're MP2 files instead of MP3 files, changing the extension on a problem file and then see if it plays would confirm this.

Re: Downloaded Music Files Will Not Play
I am replying to the last communication which I can not find now. It said that the music files that can not be played may be greyed out and that there is a solution for that. I can not see that those files which can not be played are greyed out or look any different than the others.
The files are still on my computer where I downloaded them. They will play from my computer and they now go to the Media Monkey player since I changed the default player. Media Monkey was installed before I changed the default player and I am wondering if that is causing the problem?
I would like to get this resolved since I payed for Media Monkey Gold and want to be able to use your software. Can you do a telephone call or chat?

Re: Downloaded Music Files Will Not Play
So when opening the files from File Explorer with MediaMonkey they do play? But when playing them from within MediaMonkey they fail to play?
If so, check the Path of the files in MediaMonkey, it may be wrong.

Re: Downloaded Music Files Will Not Play
Use the Path column (may need to be enabled or requires a different View like Details) or use Properties to see the Path.

Re: Downloaded Music Files Will Not Play
I need more help with this.
You said "Use the Path column (may need to be enabled or requires a different View like Details)"
I can not find any column that says PATH. SHOW DETAILS does not seem to help.
You said "use Properties to see the Path".
I can not find any tab which says properties.
Can you please give more specific directions to resolve this problem. Thanks
Howard

Properties is greyed out - will not open
Re: Downloaded Music Files Will Not Play
Did you select the file, then use Edit > Properties (or right click on file and select Properties from the Context Menu)?
Otherwise right click the Column Headers in the Filelisting and enable Path to be shown as a Column.

Re: Downloaded Music Files Will Not Play
When I select one of the songs that will not play I can go to EDIT PROPERTIES.
I do not know what I am supposed to do after that?
I do not understand what you mean with your other instruction "right click the Column Headers in the File listing and enable Path to be shown as a Column".

Re: Downloaded Music Files Will Not Play
Properties shows Path which you were checking against where the file is stored in File Explorer. The Path shown in MediaMonkey needs to match the Path in File Explorer for the same file.
