160 GB Library -> Only 110 GB on Device - How to proceed?

Post by bearer_2 »

Hello everybody,

probably a common problem:

- I have a total of 160 GB in my Library.
- I have a total of 110 GB storage on my S3 (64 GB internal plus 64 GB SDXC Card)

Questions:
How is the best way to organize a subset of 110 GB within my libary?
How is the best way to sync this subset?

Right now I don´t use MM at all but work from the file system which is an akward way of doing it (redundancies in transfered songs, redundencies because i keep a "copy to S3" folder with the musical subset, etc.).

Thanks for any info on this.

I use Auto-Playlists for a random subset (sort on random, limit to x GB). You can also sync a Collection and enable sync random subset in the Device Profile for that Collection.

I use ratings to control what is loaded on my player, with items that rated 3 stars or higher loaded on my player. In the device's profile, I set the autosync preferences to only load items with those ratings. Then, by making an autoplaylist of items rated 3 stars or higher you can see what will be loaded on your player and can make adjustments if needed.
