Re: How to sync between ipod classic and MM
I'm massively confused :s
I want to be able to view current tracks on the ipad (I know itunes can do this), and transfer tracks from computer to ipod
thanks
ah. I've seen "send to ->(my ipod)", that seems to be it to send the files over

What is confusing?
You can view your device in the Media Tree when it's connected and you can setup what to sync in the Device Profile (Tools > Options > Portable Device Sync).

Re: How to sync between ipod classic and MM
Just click the iPod node in the media tree and go to the [Auto-sync (--Device)] tab and configure folders you wish to sync.quartz wrote:MM lists my ipod, how do i actually sync. can I sync only certain directories?
Then click [Apply] and [Auto-Sync]
We should probably update the user guidelines to make it more clear.
Re: How to sync between ipod classic and MM
I hate to say i'm still being clueless on this
is the ipod node the left hand side list?
when I go tools >options it brings up available devices
i unclick everything except "my ipod and click configure and it brings up summary / auto sync / options
I click autosync but it doesnt let me scan for directories, only music / classical music / podcast / playlists
I haven't got a clue what i'm looking at...
also the ipod listed on the left hand side, doesn't list music already on the ipod, it says calendars / contacts/ notes / recordings
AH. I have found under "portable device sync" ipod [configure] "auto sync device" "music location" i can scan for folders.
so i've clicked a couple of directories, what to click to start sync?

could I suggest 2 basic guides, 1 on how to copy files from PC onto ipod, and 1 on how to sync between a directory on the computer, and the ipod?

Re: How to sync between ipod classic and MM
Ah....
I've just seen that it's listing my ipod in 2 different places
1 doesnt give much, 1 has all the music listed correctly. ok thats in the right direction
ive attached an image which shows that some directories are missing from the folders listing, do you know why this might be (the directory listing from auto sync -> device is missing the 'sets' folder)

Re: How to sync between ipod classic and MM
My Computer shows what's on your PC whereas Location in the Device Profile shows what folders have been scanned into the MediaMonkey Library and are part of the Music Collection.

Re: How to sync between ipod classic and MM
question,, I see auto sync...how do i non-auto sync? (or i guess manually sync?)
Re: How to sync between ipod classic and MM
The Auto-Sync button is for manual sync using the Device Profile settings. You can also have Auto-Sync automatically start when device is connected which is a setting on the Summary tab of the Device Profile.
