If you need to uncheck many tracks you can use the checkbox up over the checkbox for track #1
This checkbox uncheck all tracks.

Every time you check or uncheck a track the Tagger rearrange the tracks, and that takes a moment.
To stop the rearrange you can push the "Stop Track refresh" button. After that, you can check/uncheck tracks without the rearrange/refresh time. After you finish with checking/unchecking, push the "Start Track refresh" Button for rearrange.

Hope this helps you.
OK, so the correct way to tag each disc in a multi-disc set it to un-select the other discs after doing a lookup? I just want to make sure that I'm doing this correctly.
You can tag all discs in a multi disc set at once. You only need to uncheck tracks, if you didn't have some tracks or whole cd's. The answer is yes, if you don't have all cd's from this set.

If you choose a release from discogs with 5 cd's for example, but you have only 4 cd's of this release, you should mark all tracks of the 4 cd's for tagging and unselect the tracks from the one cd you didn't own.

I'm still having headaches with disc and track numbers getting mixed up with repeated track names. It seemed to be fixed for a time earlier this year, but now it's back... One example is this: https://www.discogs.com/Charles-Tollive ... se/4054572

Any hope of getting this resolved? Thanks again!

OK, so I select all of the ripped tracks from one of the CDs (disc 2) and press CTRL+L. Discogs tagger comes up; I uncheck the top-most checkbox in the first column, which unchecks all of the tracks.

I then go down and re-check the boxes for Disc 2. When I click the Auto-Tag button to apply, I get the error shown in the screenshot below.

Have you tried to use the old matching engine?
In the Discogs Tagger window click on "Tagging options" and switch the lowest option "Use new matching engine" in the window.

I tried it like you described and got no error message.
Did you wait after every re-check for the tracks of the Disc 2 ?

Thanks I wish I knew about this earlier, it seems to work! I'll keep testing with other albums.

Sorry for the late reply.

Can you give me the Discogs release number, where the problem occurred?

I figured things out finally. Can't find a way to delete this post. Unless we can't.

I ended up shutting MM down, and rebooting windows. Tried it again and it was there. Mind while the talk about it. I went to use it today and wasn't there again. I had to reinstall it to get it to show up. So maybe there is a viable bug somewhere.

This is strange. It could be a problem with missing admin-rights. After reinstall the problem is gone?

I am sitting at home and I thought it would be a good opportunity to finally clean up my mp3 collection again! :)
Well I think I encountered again a problem that I had 2 years ago (back then it disappeared suddenly and I did not understand why):

Sometimes (for particular albums) the front cover download does not work. For other albums it does work without problems. Two years ago I reported it here:
viewtopic.php?p=447255#p447255

Still today I don't understand what difference is between the working albums and the albums that do not work. But there is one thing I found out that might be of interest:
For some albums an additional button "More images" is displayed in the GUI (probably for albums that have more than one image in the Discog's DB). Interesting is that the additional images do get saved correctly but the original front image does not work.

I made a small screencap that hopefully illustrates the problem much better than I could ever describe it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WT3yMdcgQns

Also here is the Discogs_Script.log:
https://pastebin.com/x3Xq3xX7

Mediamonkey: 4.1.14.1813
Discogs Tagger: 5.7.7

Any ideas? :() Thanks and happy XMas!

Well, again as 2 years ago, I just realized that I am unsure if there are really albums where front cover do work at all. I think the albums I thought it would work are just albums that had front covers included even before taggin in MediaMonkey... :o
At the moment I cannot get front cover download to work for any albums. Additional covers with "more images" work fine though.
