DLNA streaming to Roku Soundbridge

Post by hptaccv »

Hi,

installed MM Gold yesterday - initially had problems connecting to my Upnp Clients (Roku Soundbridges) until I gave MM Server Port 800.

Now I would like to be able to stream & control playback directly from media monkey. Is that possible? (use the client as "remote speakers")
Browsing my whole collection on a single line LCD Display is no fun.
I'm sorry, I'm not sure what the exact terminus would be for that, but thankful for any help!

(I had brief encounter with on2share plugin on winamp, that worked that way, but winamp was very unstable...)

cheers,

Unfortunately not. Media Monkey is a DLNA Server, Renderer and Client, but not a DLNA Control Point. It therefore can't control streaming boxes like Roku's SoundBridges.

What you need is a DLNA Control Point software on your computer or smartphone.

A list of software running on Windows can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_UP ... ft_Windows and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Li ... d_software.

There are several apps for smartphones, too, for example 2Player, BubbleUPnP, AllShare (comes with Samsung's Android phones), Twonky Mobile and iMediaShare.
