Running MediaMonkey as a Service

Post by Ginsoakedboy21 »

Hi,

I am running MM on a Win10 box, for streaming music to other devices via UPnP.

This all works perfectly when MM is running. I have enabled MM as a service as I would like the server to be available before logon.

I can see the service is running (shows in task manager and Services app) but nothing will connect, no devices can find it. The minute I manually start MM, everything is fine.

I feel like I am missing something obvious, can anyone assist?

Thanks,

Matt

Did you install the Service as the same Windows User as you run MediaMonkey with? The Service uses the settings associated with the Windows User MediaMonkey is run as.

Which version of MediaMonkey?

I have never managed to get media monkey working as a service, I use a Microsoft account to log into my PC, MM doesn't like it, it seems to insist that you use a local account to log into the PC for it to work and I do not have one..it's been like this for a Long long time.

The MediaMonkey Service works with the MediaMonkey settings from the Windows User you use to run it normally.

Does it fail to install the service or how does it fail for you?
