MediaMonkey 4.0.7 can sync with Android. However if using MMA it is recommended to use MediaMonkey 4.1 as it is being fine tuned for MMA. Furthermore MMW 4.1 has many bug fixes related to Android syncing.

i am not comfortable with 4.1 because it is still in develop/build testing stage as of now. i want to use a tested release. Unfortunately i have to conclude that the sync currently does not work with Android devices as expected (playcount, rating..), even with a simple USB connection, which is a pity. so i will wait....thanks to all

Is there not a cross fade option for MMA?

No.[/list]
I always don´t get this "sync" thing
sync for me is A=B , so It´s impossible to sync a 1TB HD with a 8GB Android device.
However, I don´t want to sync, I just want to listen or watch.

But apart from that , Mediamonkey does not recognize a mounted usb drive and get access/ play files from it.
It only shows "internal memory".
Other apps (mediaplayer, filebrowser etc) don´t have any problems.

(comag Android TV-box on ICS)

My guess is .. first not everyone has 1tb drives and are happy with 32/64gig.

But the sync is really for play lists which seldom is the entire collection.

As for you real point, I agree, I asked about this a couple months ago but will wait until the first release is done to get this worked on.

I couldn't sync my Samsung Galaxy with MediaMonkey using Wifi. I had already a selection of my music installed on a SD Card using MediaMonkey and my previous smartphone (Windows Mobile 5), but MMA did not start to scan the selected folder to the library. I still haven't figured out why.
To circumvent the problem I also tried to sync using USB. This didn't work consistently. Sometimes card and phone were mixed up, sometimes I saw the phone twice, labeled as the card,... and anyway it didn't end up in the library. This I'll investigate further.
But I solved the first issue. Something to add to the FAQ. It took me a lot of time and trial and error to find out.

You need to give MediaMonkey.exe access through your firewall.

Keep up the good work.

How do you add music on your device to the library?

Any way to permanently keep the rating stars on the screen when the player is open?
What a strange idea to make them hide after a few seconds.. (playerpro keeps them on screen but you can tap and switch between rating stars and other functionnalities).

Same for random and repeat buttons, which desserve to stay on screen (especially since there is a lot of space below the cover of the album)

Also there is a bug on the latest version 1.0.4.0156 that makes the star and random/repeat buttons not appear on tap
- i open MMA and get on the full screen player,
- i tap and see the rating stars, i tap again and they disappear,
- i lock my device
after lets say 5 minutes, i unlock my device back to the full screen player,
i tap on the album cover and the rating stars do not appear (nor do the random/repeat buttons).
Its a bit tricky to reproduce as sometimes it work and sometimes not. It seems like after a long lock time, it never works. If you unlock immediately after, the stars normally appear on tap most of the time.
- it happens between two tracks or on the same track indifferently
- the only way to get it to function again is to leave the full screen player (like go back to the main screen or leave the application)

Also there is something illogical. When you are using the full screen player, and click the "home" button, then you get back to the desktop. Then you tap on the witdget or use the application icon to get back into MMA, and instead of coming back to the full screen player, you get back to the main screen with albums / artists / tracks / playlists, etc...
Its really annoying because it adds one tap everytime you leave the application and come back..

On galaxy S3 / 4.1.2 / nova launcher

EDIT : fixed in latest releases

Will it be possible to map phone buttons to functions.
i.e.
map power button so that when the phone is locked and you double press the button it goes to next track. Similar to Ipod.

THis would be handy when using the phone when going for a run.

Sorry if this is in the wrong spot, but is it possible to enqueue a specific folder of songs? I am navigating to my music through "folders" but have only figured out how to enqueue a single a song? and so I have to take my phone out every time I want to change a song. Can I enqueue a whole folder?

Thanks

[edit]

never mind, I figured it out. Took me a while as the buttons aren't as obvious.

Just long tap a file in the list and you'll be able to select which files should be added to the Now Playing. If you want shuffled Play you can select the Shuffle Play button without selecting any files.

Will there be a remote control in MMA? This would be awesome since I can't find a proper remote..

In synchronization FAQ it says

8 Select the content you wish to sync

Can you please expand on this? Where is this done, MMA or MMW? If it's in MMW can you just go into the album/artist area, right click, and choose sync? Do you need to set up a playlist that syncs? For noobs this stuff needs spelling out, and will need to be pretty clear before you start selling it. If I work it out myself I'll try to edit my post later.

Edit 1 - this wiki entry is fairly helpful. Basically you go into tools, options, portable device sync, and dig around in there to choose what to sync. It'd be much nicer if that was somehow integrated with the main user interface. For example right click on a song, album, or artist, choose sync with, then choose the device you want it to sync with. That would be much easier, more intuitive, and nicer.

MMA Bug report: I have MMW 4.1.0.1672 and MMA up to date as of today. I set up the WiFi sync, accepted it in windows, then hit sync. MMA sits there for ages saying "analysing sync list". I have no idea what it's trying to analyse since nothing is set up. If you hit cancel on MMA it says "terminating" but doesn't terminate at all. I had to kill it using Android settings.

I think, if i get what you are asking at the beginning, if you want to add say 'Relative Ways' from '...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead' (or any other track or group of tracks) you could simply right click that track(s) and select 'send to'. If your device is connected (listed in the tree on the left) it will appear in the 'send to' list. Simply select that item and it will wisk it to the device.

Or you could create a PlayList on the left and drag/drop tracks to that playlist and then go through tools/options/portable device sync to set that playlist to autosync every time you connect.

I hope this helps .. if i got the understanding wrong ... sorry about that.
