image type of embedded artwork

I would appreciate if the image type of the artwork embedded in the tag is recognized by MMA. Cover images should be used in the "Albums view", artist images in the "Artists view".
The current "Artists view" shows for each album of an artist a "cover" image, which is in principle fine to me. However, MMA ignores the image type. So if the Artist image is the first image in the tags, all albums of the artist are listed with the same image, which is unsatisfying.
