Volume leveling : Does it work with Android Auto ?

As per the title of my topic, I'm looking for an answer. The reason is that in a moving vehicle it makes a lot of sense to have it.

For all tracks that have Gain Index in Tags it works. At least for me. And tested both over BT and on My Android headunit.

Thanks for indirectly indicating how to activate the leveling feature : it's hidden in small print on the device configuration / auto conversion page. I'll give it a try.

That's different. If you set sync to level the volume of tracks the tracks will work on any device. However MMA can also use the leveling value to automatically level playback without having the files themselves leveled. Peke indicates that the latter also works with Android Auto.

Please elaborate in your response : how does one level volume then?

With the option you mentioned in the Device Profile. That will modify the audio on synced files and then all players will play leveled. It leaves the original files on your PC untouched.

Out of curiosity what does the volume level option in the android app do?

That uses the leveling tags to automatically adjust the playback volume so all files sound at the same level. This requires the Track Volume tag to be present in the files (MMW can do this using Tools > Analyze Volume).
