Recommendation

Can anyone recommend an Android app that is compatible with MMA's (windows) rating and playlists? I've been trying to make MMA work for me, but, aside from the syncing and star ratings retention, I can't see much reason to stay with MMA.

If not, I'll probably just switch to PowerAmp, using MMW & MMA for syncing only. I've been using MMW for a lot of years...my experience with MMA makes me wonder what I'm missing in the way of windows players, too.

GoneMad recognizes MM playlists and ratings. And, as recent comments demonstrate, it produces a better audio output than MMA. Of course you will still need MMA to sync the files; I don't think there is any other app that will read the data from MMW.

AS to what you might be missing with MMW, I'd suggest you try Audirvana. Certainly more expensive than MM, but there is a free trial period. Also more expensive - MUCH more expensive - than either is roon, but it also has a trial period. I know there are people who like JRiver, but I have found its user interface difficult.

Thanks, yarguy. I've been trying GM out for several days now and it seems to be exactly what I'm looking for. The interface is a bit clunky, but MM synced playlists and star ratings are there. The sound quality is much better. Also, the EQ actually works well. I found MMA's EQ to provide only for variations of 'tinny'.

I haven't tried the windows apps you recommend, but I can live with the SQ with MMW, at least for now. Not sure if MMW handles audio decently or if it's due to my high quality HW/speaker setup, but it works for now.

Again, thanks for the GM recommendation!
