[SOLVED AFTER GOOGLE UPDATE] MMA crashing after Android update
My Samsung Galaxy S10 updated Android 10 to version 4.14 117-18725736 yesterday and since then MMA crashes within a few minutes of starting. Sometimes it crashes at startup, other times after it plays for 5 or 10 minutes. Now it is crashing at startup every time. It does appear to be sending crash reports. I downloaded and installed the lastest MMA beta version but that didn't solve the problem. Previous to the upgrade, MMA ran fine.

Re: MMA crashing after Android update
Hi,
I guess that reinstall of MMA would help, sometimes updates break storage indexing and values that can break some apps.

Re: MMA crashing after Android update
I uninstalled and reinstalled MMA but it still crashes either immediately after launching or within a few minutes.

Hi,
Strange, this sound like that when you updated permissions to MMA are not transferred, reinstall should have fixed the issue. Let see what devs would find in log.

Please try to update
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... ksearchbox
to the latest update from 11 August and let me know whether the issue still occurs.
Thanks.

Re: MMA crashing after Android update
That link doesn't take me to a MMA download. I currently have build 932 on my device but don't see a laster version in the Google Play store for MMA beta.
Re: MMA crashing after Android update
Correct, it's the Google App that's causing the problem and needs updating.

Re: MMA crashing after Android update
Does the problem still occur once you've updated the Google Search app? I've tested on an S10 with up-to-date OS/MMA/Google Search and can't replicate the problem.
Thanks!

Re: MMA crashing after Android update
Rusty, I'm having the same problem with 1.3.9.0924, MMA Pro. I uninstalled last evening, formatted my SD card, deleted the mediamonkey folder on the internal storage with the database, and reinstalled latest MMA Pro and MMA from the play store. After syncing with MMW 4.1.29.1910, it scanned folders without crashing. But now that it's in sync with MMW and all background scans are complete, it crashes every few seconds. I've tried rebooting the phone to no avail. It keeps saying it's delivered crash reports, if that helps (I have send crash logs automatically checked). Anything else I should do?

Did you make sure the Google App is up-to-date as suggested above?

Re: MMA crashing after Android update
I tried. I followed the link and the link takes me to the Google app. Under What's new near the middle of the page, it lays it was last updated August 6, 2020. So I don't see an update from 8/11. I have automatic updates so I think I have this version. If you think it might help I'll uninstall/reinstall Google on my phone.
For what it's worth, I have an LG G7 ThinQ running G710VM21a build PKQ1.181105.001, kernel version 4.9.112 which is the latest from Verizon.
Thanks for your time!

Re: MMA crashing after Android update
Hi,
It would be great if you can send one manual Debug Log using ⋮ -> About MediaMonkey -> Send Logs -> Make ScreenShot -> Press Send to send it and then attach screenshot here.
It should contain last crash reason, and easier way to check for auto sent crashes from device.

Re: MMA crashing after Android update
I don't see how to attach an image without a URL. Anyway, the only thing of interest is the Log ID is BSZCPF8FTG. Maybe that and Send Logs keeps crashing, so I don't know if any are actually making it.
