New tablet not playing movies from dlna
I have a Samsung S8+ phone and a new Samsung S7pro tablet. Both are running 0945 MMA. The phone connects to my MM5 server just find and plays movies across the network. But the tablet fails to play movies. Although the tablet is new (probably android 11) shouldn't they both be able to play movies. Movie formats are avi and mp4 if that makes a difference

Any different Auto-Conversion rules setup between the 2 devices?

Auto-conversion is done at the server level right .. then no. I know of no other setting for conversion.

Yes, it's done in MMW, but the settings can be changed per device.

Re: New tablet not playing movies from dlna
Hi,
Unfortunately Unless there is a specific Device profile/setting MM set it based on formats received from device, Many supports FLAC and MKV but do not report in device support formats query No apparent solution except trial and miss. Also there are some devices that play MKV only if renamed and served as MP4 eg. usually supported formats that devices read from USB are also supported in DLNA streaming but not officially in order if they do not work no one can be blamed.

Re: New tablet not playing movies from dlna
Hi,
At one point when I tested some LG and Sony TV I simply added all Video and all Audio formats then added playlist with all different formats and start playing.
Some play some fail some partially work some not. Usually main problem was AC3 while DTS pass thru worked even not specified, same goes for FLAC and other paly from USB (saved same files that do not play over DLNA on USB and played directly from it in media APP) result is the I ended finding 7 formats that play on USB but not on DLNA -> Then Renamed Extension and tried Again. 3 of them played. So unfortunately trial and miss
