Quality Album Art Websites

Post by dypsis »

I am sure MediaMonkey users would like to have great looking album art tagged to their music.
I do.

When I cannot find quality artwork for my albums, I either:
  • Find album art of lesser quality, then touch it up, or
  • Scan my own and touch it up.
But it sure saves time and effort if someone has already done the work for you. :)
So, I will share a few of the websites that I use. Your contributions are welcome.

Album Art Exchange

FANART.TV

Cover Century

iTunes Artwork Finder by Ben Dodson

Cover My Tunes

Hi,
I checked those sites and:
https://www.albumartexchange.com/ = The connection has timed out (eg. do not work)
https://fanart.tv/ and https://www.covercentury.com/ looks like do not have any developers API for us to use

Thx for pointer.
Best regards,

I have used the Fanart site. The Album art exchange requires a registration, it seems. All of their art is watermarked in a google search. A couple of sites I use besides google image search is https://www.covermytunes.com/ and I also look for an album page on Pandora. The art work there is normally around 1080x1080. Shift+Right click on the image and open it in a new tab to check it out and save from there. Hovering your cursor on the tab should give you the image size. Also, when I am not having any luck with finding a good picture, I will search Amazon Japan (jazz usually) or Amazon UK (good for blues titles). I can sometimes find a quality image that way.

So, Google search by image has changed. There are no longer any image dimensions when you hover over the image. The dimensions will be displayed when you click on the image within the side panel that opens for that selected image. Image search just got harder. Good thing I just finished my image updates on my library yesterday.

I don't see the problem with signing up to Album Art Exchange.
You are really just signing up to their forum.
You can also share (upload) your own quality album art.

I wasn't sure about Album Art Exchange. Wasn't familiar with it. I guess it comes down to that and the idea of signing up for one more thing. Maybe I will check them out. I do have a scanner, but it is a bit inconvenient to use when I am trying to deal with album art. Thanks dypsis.

Out of all the sites I have used, Album Art Exchange would be the most consistently highest quality. 👍

I've added "iTunes Artwork Finder by Ben Dodson" and "Cover My Tunes" to the first post.
