question re GPM behaviour pertaining to smart playlists [#15396]

Post by mtrhead »

Hi,

Can I check what is expected to happen with GPM sync of playlists. What I'm seeing is that my smart playlists in MM5 are sync'd over to GPM as static playlists. Perhaps this is as intended and by design but a consequence is that when selecting playlists within MM5 after a sync I now see duplicates of every playlist, one smart and one static. I've not seen a GPM sync complete without a crash on 2148 and 2149 so I'm curious if this is a consequence of a crash and thereby leaving playlists in an odd state or normal and expected behaviour.
Thanks

Something you could look at while waiting for the MM Devs to back on-board.

have you checked anything on the LibraryContent tab of Devices&Services>GPM?

I think that checks on this panel trigger a sync in the direction from GPM to MM.

I have nothing checked there, and I don't have any duplication of my MM autoplaylists.
Want a dark skin for MM5? This is the one that works best for me .. elegant, compact & clear.

The crash is being solved here: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 30&t=93740

As for the duplication, where exactly in MM5 UI do you see the duplicates? Is it directly under the Playlists node?
In that case I suppose that you
1) checked the auto-playlist(s) on the [Devices & Services > Google Play Music > Library Content] page, right?
2) checked the option '[x] Scan Google Play Music content to the local database' on the 'Remote Content' page, right?
Is this what you have configured?

Otherwise yes, the auto-playlists are synced as static playlist to GPM (when checked on the GPM > Library Content page)

FYI: I tried and I can replicate this issue, to be fixed as https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=15396
Thanks for reporting.

EDIT: Further issue is that GPM playlists has only 1000 tracks, this seems to be longstanding GPM's limitation: https://productforums.google.com/forum/ ... nPPJXyBQAJ :-(
