In Media Monkey for Windows 4, I set the file location as:
\Music\<Album Artist>\<Album>\<Disc #><Track#:2>-<Title>
for an external hard disk drive and it added MP3 files as expected - for example:
X:\Music\10cc\Sheet Music\101-The Wall Street Shuffle.mp3
However, using Media Monkey for Windows 5, I set the file location as:
\MMW5\<Album Artist>\<Album>\<Disc #><Track#:2>-<Title>
for the same external hard disk drive (with the previous MMW4 files added) and things got curious!
X:\Music\10cc - Sheet Music\01 10cc - The Wall Street Shuffle.mp3
In other words it did not use X:\MMW5, did not create a sub-folder for the album and did not add the disc number to the front of the track name but included the Artist.
Is this a bug or is this happening because I am mixing synchronisation of the two versions on a single external hard disk?

Re: File Location Not Working as Expected
Where do you set this File Location and do you also still run MediaMonkey 4, and perhaps it is moving the files?

Hi Lowlander,
I set the File Location under Devices & Services then Sync Profile then File Locations.
Could it be the the information on the external hard disk in x:\MediaMonkey\Files\... sort of over-rides the previous?

Are you syncing then? Only on Sync would you expect files newly Synced to have the Path as set in the Device Profile in MediaMonkey 5.

Hi Lowlander,
Yes first time sync to the freshly formatted external hard disk.
First Media Monkey 4 (to x:\Music\...) and then Media Monkey 5 (to x:\MMW5\...)
Then I was going to compare the results of the two "syncs" and see if that showed any issues.

I assume it's user error, but I'm not sure what.
Did MMW5 Sync the same files as MMW4? That may be the problem as the files already on the device they don't get Synced again.

Hi Lowlander,
Yes both MMW4 and MMW5 worked on synching the same source files.
It worked OK after removing the MediaMonkey folder.

Definitely something odd going on!
Take a look at this video clip and see how the File Locations appears to be "saved" when Apply is clicked, but when you change to Playing and back the Devices & Services / Sync Profile / File Locations ALL the settings are reset.

Curious, I am unable to replicate -- making the same steps as on your video.
Is this always reproducible for you? Does it depend on the way how you initially accessed the X:\ node and subsequently visited the Sync profile page?
i.e. can you take one more screencast starting from MM5 start so that I am sure that I am using exactly the same steps from MM5 start as you ?
