folder tree width

Post by spacekris »

hi all, my filder tree looks like this:

i would more like it narrow, like this:

but its also not perfect,
maybe some more optical indicator for subfolders and not shifting them to the right, wasting space.

any other suggestions?

thats going to be devleoper area.

however your using the nonskined mode.
you could use the skin mode and move the player out from under the folder tree window.
and put it some place else then you can squeeze the tree smaller. not much small but any little bit should help. then again that might be caused by my using a wider then normal screen size of 600 h. x 960 w. :-?

i really dont want to use the skinned version, because it uses more resources and it feels slower.
but can you post a screenshot pls? im not sure that i understood.

no screen shot i can't post them cause i refuse to join another forum i got too many passwords now to remember?

but the skin version allows you to move the player out of the folder tree,
you can then shrink the tree to the narrow size you want.

it won't change the distance between the dotted lines and icons. but it will just make the tree narrower and
give you a wider list view area.

the distance between the dotted lines and the icons within the folder tree is set by the programers, aka rusty and jiri and the others.

:)

is there any discussion among the developers about improving the tree? I'd like it look and funcion like the vista explorer navigation panel or better yet windows 7 explorer navigation panel.

I am with mmfan. Changing the treeview's behaviour to act like windows 7 explorer's tree would be nice.

Hiding the ugly lines and replacing the +/- by smaller triangles would open up the chance to make the tree more compact. It would also be nice to see the treeview scroll horizontally to perfectly show a selected treenode. I don't need to see 6 or 7 vertical dotted lines of the parent tree item levels.

Thanks.
