As tagging is very important for maintaining and sorting my library (about 30.000 titles) not with MM only, it took me one or the other hour with a HEX-Editor to find out which tags are used in MM, especially VorbisComment.
A tag mapping table would be of great help, as provided by other apps I use.
mp3tag: https://hilfe.mp3tag.de/main_tags.html
MinimServer (on NAS): https://minimserver.com/ug-library.html#Tag%20mappings
MusicBrainz Picard: https://picard-docs.musicbrainz.org/en/ ... pping.html
What puzzles me, is that MM uses blanks in some of their VorbisComment tags, i.e. ORIGINAL DATE, ORIGINAL TITLE and the additional ALBUM ARTIST (what's the use of the latter?). This is very unusual and proprietary and makes me think of iTunes, which I dropped for this behaviour.
To ORIGINAL TITLE: for MP3 files the TOAL tag is filled, which is provided for the original album title.
No source I inspected lists a tag for 'original title' associated with the track title.
Imo the text 'original title' for this field is misleading in MM and the corresponding VorbisComment tag shoud be ORIGINALALBUM or ORIGALBUM instead.
Fortunately 'mp3tag' gives the opportunity to define individual mappings like ORIGINAL DATE <-> ORIGYEAR to fill VorbisComment tags used by other apps, though it is rather elaborate.

Exactly! Thanks, but you won't find it if you search for 'tag mapping' or similar.Lowlander wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 12:42 pm Do you mean: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index. ... erties/4.0
