No sound on certain mp3s in RC5

I've noticed that some of my mp3s don't play properly in Vista 64.

Some songs start playing for a second then the sound disapears while the vast majority of mp3s work fine (MM doesn't hang though it just plays through the whole song without any sound)
The same files work without problems in a dualbooted XP-environment on the same machine so there's nothing wrong with the files themselves.

I can't seem to find the difference between the files that work and those that don't. There must be some encoding difference I guess.

Now, I don't really blame MediaMonkey for this as it must have something
to do with codecs and the drivers for my soundcard (a Creative-card but I don't trust the 64-bit drivers in Vista).
I was just wondering if there are others experiencing the same thing?

try the mp3pro plugin on the monkeys download area. and see if that works. if so let us know, if not then try using the mad input plugin and let us know on that if it works or not works?

there might be other stuff to do but that is all i can think of off hand?

I wouldn't mind sleeping a couple more hours though...winter is dark in Sweden, no snow yet though

Although I think he's Danish or perhaps Norwegian so it's not really the same language but it's close enough

The "other" forum they're talking about here is in Norwegian, but as already mentioned, it should be close enough even if it's not the exact same language.

Since MP3pro is compatible to MP3 possbile MP3pro-files should be played without a problem but with a worse quality. So, I'd try the MAD plugin which rovingcowboy already mentioned.

And sorry rowing cowboy but Switzerland isn't near countries like sweden and norwegia although a lot of american think that.

Also George Bush and even CNN have already mixed up Sweden and Switzerland.

i don't know if that is the only one or not?

i was under the impression that morten had a full sized forum like this forum, and he was moderating it over there also.?

could have been mistaken though.
