Memory leak with StereoExpander ?

Post by Octopod »

Hello,

I have a W2K PC with MediaMonkey installed and i observe (Windows' task manager) that as soon as i activate "Stereo Expander v1.0" (from "DSP plug-in" page), the amount of memory used grows (and a bit quickly: about 1Mb/s! ).

If i stop this plugin, the memory stops growing immediately (but the amount of memory used by "MediaMonkey.exe" is not reduced).

I am currently at office and i did not observe this with previous beta versions. Moreover, i did not checked my home PC (with a Win XP Pro)...

Can you reproduce this and is it a plugin bug ?

Hi, just tested this on W2k and cannot reproduce. I tested Stereo Expander Beta 1.0 that's bundled with MediaMonkey 2.0 RC-1 and could not reproduce the observed behaviour.

Tested with several MP3 and OGG files, and measure using the task manager.

Any other info you can provide?

Hi,

This occurs when i play MP3 files with:
- MediaMonkey's internal player,
- Stereo Expander Beta 1.0 (bundled)
- MAD plugin (bundled)

Replacing the active MP3 player plugin from MAD to MediaMonkey's one OR deactivating Stereo Expander stops the problems...

Not reproduced on my own Win XP...

No more info :-?

I can reproduce this on my Windows XP machine

Media Monkey RC-2 Build 555
Internal Player
Equalizer Enabled
MAD Plugin Enabled
Playing mp3 files
Stereo Expander beta 1.0 enabled

Leak Rate is about 250KB/second! (Mem Delta column from Task Manager). Within a few minutes, total mem usage is up to 150MB and climbing!

Disabling Stereo Expander stops the leak.
Enabling/Disabling Equalizer doesn't seem to matter.

Thank you both and to Stutes for the feedback. StereoExpander has been removed from 2.0.2 beta.
