MediaMonkey 4.0.0.1450

Post by rusty »

Hi,

Here's a new build that fixes the majority of issues that remain, including a fair number of DLNA bugs. RC3 is pending resolution of just a few more 'urgent' issues that we're investigating along with verification of these fixes. We're looking forward to your feedback--please raise (or re-raise) any serious bugs that you've noticed to the forum. Thanks.

What's new? Download Installation:
  • Double-click the downloaded file and follow the installation instructions:
-When prompted for an install directory, choose a new directory such as /Program Files/MediaMonkey4/ so as to preserve your existing MediaMonkey installation.
-When prompted for path to shortcuts, choose something like 'MediaMonkey 4' so that you'll have shortcuts to both versions of MediaMonkey in your Start folder.
-To test video encoding functionality (for formats other than WMV) or to play video formats that aren't working on your machine, you can install the MediaMonkey Codec Pack, available separately.
Enjoy!

Hi,

This fixes a regression in the last build that resulted in playback problems on some systems, along with a DLNA fix. The fixes haven't yet been tested, so it's not labelled an RC, but unless any critical issues are discovered, it'll be released as 4.0 tomorrow. Looking forward to your feedback. Thanks.

Hi,

This fixes a regression related to multi-monitor support along with one other fix. We'll be working on updating the site later tonight and tomorrow to make this the official MM4 release. A HUGE THANKS to all of our beta testers who've helped us get to this stage.

Once we release, keep the reports flowing in, but post them to the regular bug forum--and keep in mind that if a pet bug of yours isn't fixed, it'll probably be included in 4.0.1.

Hi,

Some of you are still experiencing failed migration of data from MM3 to MM4--this build should resolve those remaining issues (on win7, you can delete your MM4 profile by deleting the content of users/<user>/appdata/roaming/mediamonkey to test). There are a couple of other fixes as well, so let us know if you discover any regressions--we expect to release this shortly.
