Newbie here...
no recognition of FLV files in MM4. codec pak installed
if i rename them to m4v it recognizes and plays them.
but no file information etc...
when i try to auto rename them from file it deletes the original file and creates a 2kb file with the same name from auto rename.
MM4 and FLV Files [#7103]

Re: MM4 and FLV Files
Not sure on what MM relies to play different video codecs.
But I found two ways that work well here* for flv:
1. MM4 + Codec Pack 1.06
or
2. MM4 without Codec Pack 1.06 but with K-Lite Codec Pack (Full) installed.
http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm
Maybe your have some broken video codecs on your system.
During the installation of the K-Lite Codec Pack such broken codecs are recognized and quite reliably removed.
*Win XP, Mediaplayer 9 (does not play flv)

Re: MM4 and FLV Files
thanks,
i have installed the MM4 codec pak but MM4 does not have the .flv file extension in the list of file types so cannot import the files.

Sorry, you are right. Did not read your post careful enough:STabs996 wrote:thanks,

MM does not recognize and add them to the library at all.
It just plays all flv without problem that show up in the "My Computer"-node.
