Android Sync via d_usbmass1.dll

Post by jarod73 »

I currently have an HTC EVO
I currently use d_usbmass1.dll
Under auto sync i have selected the 4 check boxes

If I connect my phone and sync it, everything is synced.. not just the things that have been added/changed
If I change something without removing the phone from the computer it correctly syncs just the things that have been changed/added

I run an app on my phone called Meridian that allows you to rate media, due to the files not syncing back to the pc it does not reflect the changes on the PC

I have considered using d_wmdm.dll but it greys out the option to sync files from the device to the pc

Have I missed a setting or is this a bug?

It sounds like a bug, but it's not a bug that I'm able to reproduce.

Can you confirm a couple of things:
1) What version of MediaMonkey are you testing with (hopefully at least 4.0.0.1395--there was a bug in earlier versions re. the auto-sync list)
2) Are you certain that the device is actually syncing via the USB MS plugin?
3) In the Auto-sync configuration, can you confirm that no Collections are checked off?

I have also noticed that videos deleted off the pc are not removed from the device upon sync

here is my device profile settings: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4076435/HTC%20EVO.mmdc

I am using 4.0.0.1396

The summary screen show's HTC EVO, that is the same that shows under name in the options screen for the avail devices

Not sure where to find the option for collections, I only sync playlists

It's in the auto-sync list tab, same place as playlists.

No collections are checked...

At this point I have un-installed Mediamonkey 4 with revo uninstaller, ran ccleaner to clean the registry, and deleted everything related to mediamonkey from the pc , reinstalled with the most recent version 1397

I have created new playlists and have tried this again with the same results, it resyncs everything after reattaching the phone to the computer

Hi Jarod,

I believe that it occurs--we just can't replicate this. Would you mind:

1) Posting a video of this issue using Jing
2) Sending a a debug log?

That'll hopefully give us the information needed to figure out why this is happening.

Thanks.

Note that in MM 4.0 d_WMDM is supposed to be used pretty much for all sync needs. You are right though, that the sync to PC is unnecessarily disabled there, it will be fixed in the next build.

Jarod,

Notwithstanding the fix to the wmdm plugin, we're still not able to figure out why tracks are synching unnecessarily for you, using the USB MS plugin.

Can you send a complete debug log so that we can better understand why?

Thanks.

Something that I have noticed is that if I have Mediamoneky open then attach my phone it will want to do a full sync

But if I close it and re-open Mediamonkey after attaching my device (or attach my device before opening mediamonkey) then it seems to sync correctly.
