Random wrote:FOR THOSE who wish to "disable" Always on Top. Here how to do it. It quite hidden in fact.

1. Open Playlist (Ctrl+Alt+N) if you haven't already.
2. At the bottom of playlist. Where it should say "List Edit Copy". Right Click on it.
3. Choose Dock Window.
4. Now your Playlist will become a Window inside Mediamonkey.
5. Right click this 'new' window as describe in step 2. This time you will see an option call "Always on Top". Try clicking on that. 6. Test to see if it work (ie. MM no longer Always on Top). If it still on top. Repeat step 5. Else read step 7.
7. Done, feel free to repeat step 2 if you want your Playlist to dock again.
Did this, it solved the problem.

Thanks,

Yes my default browser is IE9.

The first time I've observed this is with build 1426. For others who've seen the behavior, have you seen it prior to 1426?

No I haven't seen it before. This is the first time.
One more thing. To answer the previous question I should mention that I have installed "Lyrics and Comments Viewer" extension and I have used it for a long time (from MM 3) but this is the first time I'm seeing this kind of problem.

I'm pretty sure as well that it began only with ver 1426, and no change with the newest 1428.

I reinstalled ver 1424 and had it 1 whole day running without the issue.

I have IE 9 but i never use it, neither i use the Web node, it is deaktivated on my system.

It's been a while since this was reported. So is it being tracked? Any news? Is it fixed in the next releases?

I have this annoyance as well, but I don't use IE as my main browser (Version 8.0.7601.17514).

Please note that it never occurs when a dialog window is opened in MM.

I have this issue too. I noticed it because I can't go to the taskbar, which is set on auto-hide.
I have IE9, but it's not my standard browser.
The above cure fixes the issue, thanks for that.

Willy, what cure are you referring to? (I thought you still experience the issue).

He means what Random said in 7 steps. Although its effect will not remain and the problem will occur again.

Indeed that's what I mean. It's not a solution, but at least I can make it go away.
I'm a she by the way, not a he... ;-)

flinx42 wrote:But further experimenting has shown that just minimizing MM does it.
However NOT when using the button in the window decoration on the top-righ of the MM windowt!

Only if you minimize MM TWICE by clicking on the taskbar icon each time!!!
After the second restoring from Minimized state MM is consistently in ALWAYS ON TOP mode.
I went from 1424 straight to 1430 (sorry for not testing recently, ive been making a skin) and I too have this problem when MM will "always stay on top" of any window unless unless you forcefully minimise MM using the windows top right system buttons.

Flinx42s steps to reproduce are exactly the same as mine:

1. Minimise MM by clicking ONLY the taskbar pin button (or equivalent in other Windows OS's)
2. Maximise again ONLY by clicking the taskbar pin button
3. Redo steps 1. and 2. again so you've minimised and maximised twice
4. Now you see MM again, if you click on any other pin button for another program, then these won't show and will stay hidden behind MM.
4. Once you click minimise in the top right corner then MM will go behind all windows and you can see the other programs again
5. However if you maximise again via pin button, MM will forever stay "always on top" until you restart MM

I can also confirm the fix mentioned in this thread by making playlist not be "Always on Top" works and I do also have IE9.

Hope that helps and hopefully you devs can repro or make playlist never "Always on Top" by default.
