I transferred or copied about 400 songs to my iphone. I noticed that about 15 songs had the title renamed to 3 characters. ?w~ Where the ? is a really funky character kinda looks like an o with a squiggle on top of it... but not the usual tilde over an N in spanish.
Anyway, I removed all these and tried sending again, a few still had the bad name. I saw this issue with the latest build
Anyone see this before? Work around?

What device and could the filenames on the device be too long and thus get shortened?

Re: Some songs getting renamed after transfer to device
Hi my device is an Iphone 4. The issue seemed random as the files were named fine before. I did a complete delete of all music files as I had a few songs that could not be deleted.. Iclould was turned off, but a few files still showed up. It was a very strange issue, so I wanted to start over clean.
After transferring many of my files I noticed that some files were just named wrong. For Instance, Animal by Neon Trees was named with those 3 characters.
I am using Windows 7 with the latest RC of MM. I didn't load the debug version but can do that if needed.

All files are supposed to be with a few character filenames as that's what Apple uses for naming of media files on iDevices.

Yeah, but that is not what this is...
If I wait till after I copy the song to my phone, then find it in the list of songs on my device, and play it, the title changes to those 3 characters.
If I could post a pic easily. I would do it.... I will try now.

One additional note. I see that my phone has the proper title. It is just that when I try to play in on MM it shows up wrong... This is strange!

This could be something that has been addressed in MediaMonkey 4.1 (not sure): http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 65#p381165

That is the version I have installed.
4.1.0.1686
Should I submit a bug report or what?
