MM 3.0.1.1127
Error Message:
"The following tracks could not be found in their expected locations:
.
.
.
Do you want to remove them from the Library."
However, the tags and filenames are shown perfectly fine on both US-English and German language settings on 2 different Windows XP laptops and/or within Itunes or Windows Explorer.
Example: Sigur Rós
The file exists in the specified folder but can't be added to MM because MM obviously gets confused when Tags or Filenames include special characters as they are often found in foreign languages as French, German, Swedish etc.
I've got a screenshot and its reproducable. Changing MM language settings has no effect.
Kind regards,
Chris

Re: Add/Scan: unavailable tracks / special characters file n
Hi. Please send me one of these tracks (petr < att > mediamonkey < dott > com).
I did send you a sample file.
I would like to add that I also experience problems when importing M3U or XML playlists that include songs containing special characters within their file names. These entries are imported with incorrect filenames (using iPlaylistImporter and ImortM3U) but the corresponding tracks are faded out and can't be located by MM.
Example:
filename in M3U playlist
01 La Chanson Bête Et Méchante.mp3
filename in XML itunes playlist
01%20La%20Chanson%20B%C3%AAte%20Et%20M%C3%A9chante.mp3
filename after importing playlist to MM
01 La Chanson B%C3%AAte Et M%C3%A9chante.mp3
Title tag after importing playlist to MM
La Chanson Bête Et Méchante
Manually adding/rescan the folder:
G:\itunes\Clothilde\Fallait Pas Ecraser La Queue Du Chat\01 La Chanson Bête Et Méchante.mp3
is resulting in a error message described earlier (see above), file can't be located.
I can reproduce this on various files containing special characters.
Regards,
Chris

Any news? I tested with MediaMonkey_3.0.2.1131 beta and the problem still exist. Also XML or M3U playlists imported from itunes are not properly played or imported, any umlaute / special characters are converted incorrectly and as a result these file cannot be found by MM. I'm wondering if there is a workaround. I'll be happy to send you some sample playlist files if needed.
