hello, and congratulations for your great work on mm4
well i have scanned my music videos and
-after i have used "filename to tags" tool, have got:
- some mkv files appear twice on the db
-noticed the supposed video tags on mkv are not really inside the file (as vlc doesnt read them)
it seems only avi and mp4 tags are really stored
looking forward.......
thanks

Re: duplicate musical video entries mkv
Did you Auto-Tag from Filename or Auto-Organize Files? Do the duplicates point to the same file location?

Re: duplicate musical video entries mkv
it was Auto-Tag from Filename
and yes they were exaclty the same file /folder
after posting this, i dragged the videos to soul and funk genre node (inside music)
i have noticed now they became "music" type! and have re- set them as "musical videos", seemed fine , nevertheless they still show in the soul and funk "music" genre, ant not inside music videos.... and if i check the properties they are still tagged as "musical videos"
have also retagged them by dragging to funk genre inside "musical videos", but they remains showing inside music!

Re: duplicate musical video entries mkv
If I move a Video to a Music > Genre node the file gets tagged with the Genre and the Type changed. This doesn't seem unexpected. However if I then change the Type back to Video it will no longer show in the Music Collection.

Re: duplicate musical video entries mkv
-about tags not changing with content type
i have kept experimenting to no avail, eventually i removed/changed the genre to unkown, still they appeared under music!... and then changed again the "genre" and "type" and this time they did change to and appeared under video
!!
-about the duplicate files in the db
after all these attempts of tagging theye do not appear anymore
-nevertheless there is still one thing weird
after using the "filename to tags" tool as before (ie "year title".mkv-> "year" field + "title" field), the "title" field appears different if i am looking at the library (ie looking files under "genre" , "artist") title=songname, which is fine. but then if i browse the files by location i still get filename=title ="year title".. the same files!!

Re: duplicate musical video entries mkv
By Location do you mean the My Computer node or the Music Videos > Location node?

Re: duplicate musical video entries mkv
both but it was most unexptected to find that behaviour in Music Videos > Location node!
Re: duplicate musical video entries mkv
I suggest reproducing this and sending a debug log for it to support: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=69
