Access Violation 0053BC53

Post by macmcd »

Whenever I close the file properties window (either "Okay", "Cancel" or simply clicking the red cross) I get the following error:

Access violation at address 0053BC53 in module 'MediaMonkey.exe'.
Read of address 00000031.

It doesn't matter if it is for a single or multiple tracks, nor whether I have actually changed any tags. A search didn't find any other posts with this problem. Anyone any ideas?

Thanks,
Mac.

Send a debug log (step 4b) capturing this to support: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=69

Will do. Incidentally, I restarted MM but the error persisted. After changing tags in a playlist, I received the error, cancelled it and tried to scroll to the right and ended up with a blank playlist and a message:

"Cannot terminate an externally created thread."

Selecting anything in the Media Tree results in the same message. I couldn't quit and had to kill it from Task Manager.

Regards,
Mac.

Having installed the debug version I am now unable to replicate the bug. I'll post a bug report if it reoccurs.

Mac.

As of January, 2013 I am getting this error too. Was it ever resolved?
I am on Windows 7 and have been running MediaMonkey since June, 2012 without any issues.
I am on MediaMonkey Version 4.0.7.1511

In the for what it's worth dept: similar issues were giving me fits for months but installing the latest beta seems to have cleared it all up. Wish I had found this post sooner.
