ScriptsPath returns wrong path

Post by CarlitoGil »

If I install a search script for the current user, the first time the user tries to search with it SDB.ScriptsPath returns the path for the scripts in "C:\Program Files" instead of the one in "C:\Users",
after that, or after a restart of MM, it returns the one in "C:\Users", which is the correct one.

Does the script always show the wrong one first, until you restart mm?

Or does the script continue to show the correct one no matter how many times you shut down system and restart system then restart mm.?

If it is doing the second one above then it is fine and the first instance is because of mm not seeing script until he does his first look at his folders, or a scan through all folders which he sees the script then. And thats normal.

If it keeps doing the first thing above then do a debug report with the debug viewer and send report file in to developers.

The second,
It ony shows the wrong one, IF MM is not restarted, and only the first time ever to be used.

Further to this issue, my attempt to update ScrobblerDJ for use with MediaMonkey 4: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... =2&t=69301 is also suffering from ScriptsPath issues.

The mmip uses twin Install.vbs and Uninstall.vbs routines to update Scripts.ini.

Both use the term SDB.ScriptsPath & "Scripts.ini" to locate Scripts.ini, but this changes locations between Installing (as Current User) and Uninstalling.

The convoluted workaround I have noted at http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 45#p365535 is just that - a workaround for ScriptsPath returning inconsistent results.

Surely there should be some term that consistently identifies the same Scripts.ini file during both the Installation and Uninstallation phases however far apart in time said phases might be?
