I've a big problem. MM freezes for several seconds, but I don't know the reason. Sound is stuttering and looping and progress bar won't go further, playtime same. It happens in various situations. When I'm editing song properties, clicking on cover to enlarge while playing. Playing same song in Foobar2000 or Musicbee and it's flawless. Most songs are FLAC, playing from external HDD with newest MM4 version. Thought it's because installed scripts, but deactivated scripts, same result.

File > Maintain Library with complete optimization enabled may improve things though.

I got the solution and maybe it could the solution for some other posts, where MM freezes while playing. It's something I never paid attention to, but now with a much larger growed achieve than a few years ago, it became a problem.

Solution:
When I made a doubleclick in music node, where all songs listed, MM is throwing all those songs into now playing playlist. And when you got a few thousand songs this action is resulting in stuttering and freezing. You have to switch doubleclick setting that way, that it doesn't load all songs.

Depending on the setting in "Play Now Action", the transfer in "Now Playing" behaves differently.
