skin error

okay i found an skin error i can't seem to fix it.
i sent the skin to peter but i'll ask here also to see
what you others think might be causing it.

1. all skins work fine but this one skin i made.
2. the trouble is with the rating stars on the player
and with the previous and next buttons.
3. when not playing music those items work fine.
4. when playing music if i click one of the buttons or
try to change the rating for that song,
it causes mm 3 to crash. it will do the command of what
ever item i clicked but it just crashes and locks mm 3 until
i click the send or don't send button on the error report.
then after i click it everything goes back to normal.

it is only with the one skin that is doing this.

so do any of you other skinner have any idea or have had this
same error show in your skins, and if so how did you fix it?

I don't think it would be a skinning bug but it is weird that it only does it for that skin.

I really have no idea why it would do that.

Would you be able to upload it here for us to d/load?

Fixed or Found Cause

Okay everyone's aloud a stupid forgot error now and then.
and since this is a mm 2 combined with mm 3 skin. this stupid
fogot error has never been done by anybody else right??

atleast not that you would admit it right?

here's the deal.

1. the mm 2 theme.mskn does not understand some options of mm 3. so when the option for mm 3 is turned on it will crash mm when the button using that option is clicked,

2. the cause was related to both the prevoius and the next buttons, but also to the rating area of the player.

3. when playing a song and letting it advance to the next song
by it's self there was no crash.

4. when not playing any song and clicking on those buttons or rating area there was no crash.

5. the crash was only that part of mm 3 that the mm 2 theme did not understand so the rest of media monkey continued as normal.

6. you smarter skinners and coders figured it out yet? if not
it was dummy here had checked the option for mm 3 that told it to pop up the song's info tray.

the resulting error did not accure until i tired the newly added coded in open button to the skin. which is when i also tried to change the song on that player. ever since i made that Esthetic Hi Fi skin i've had that option off and did not relize i had turned it back on two days before i got the error.

i know it could have been turned back on when i over installed the program to make sure no files were messed up by recently added other software.

but i'll just take the blame for being dumb.

i'll adjust the wiki to make sure anyone can follow what happend when they try to convert mm 2 skins to mm 3.

Okay i added a warning for this error, in the lesson disclaimer on the wiki site for converting mm 2 to mm 3 skins.
