:: Silk Icon Set for MM 2 + 3 (almost ) ::

Post by kemie »

** Update Oct-03-2007**
Thanks to gege, we now have not one, but 2 icon packs with installers. See details below:
***
I wasn't wild about the default icon set in MM 2.x, so I decided to whip up a new set. It is based off the Silk icon set by Famfamfam, though I had to fill in some blanks with icons from other open source collections, and a couple of my own creation.

Gege had been working on this project too separately, so he merged his with mine for an alternate version

This icon set is for MM2.x primarily. It works in MM 3.x, with a few missing icons (waiting for release of an icon list for MM3) and will only look good with skins with lightish backgrounds since there seems to be no support for alpha transparency.

There were a few icons that I could not figure how to change, and some on MM3 that are not documented, so those will still be "old style"

Kemie pack for MM2
mm_silk_icons.zip

Gege installer for MM3
Silk_Icons_Installation_gege_mod.mmip

Kemie installer for MM3
Silk_Icons_Installation.mmip

::To install::
.zip file for MM2
In your MM2 program folder, create a folder called "icons". Extract all these icons to that folder. (Re)start MM, and Voila!
.mmip files for MM3
Simply double click the file and confirm you want to install (WARNING: will overwrite any icons you might have in your MM3/icons folder). Restart MM3 to see changes

Suggestions or bug reports are welcome: kemie AT monolinea DOT com

enjoy!

:: Update::
All icons should be working now on MM3. Let me know if any still have a solid background.

Very nice initiative!
Extensions: ExternalTools, ExtractFields, SongPreviewer, LinkedTracks, CleanImport, and some other scripts (Need Help with Addons > List of All Scripts).

Nice, was it hard to make them and what did you use to make icons?

Hi Peke. It was not HARD work, it just took a long time. Since I already had most of the elements done, it was just a question of pasting the right elements together (page + musical note + arrow, etc), and then exporting to the right format. I used axialis icon workshop, btw.

By the way, I just checked and it seems to work fine on MM3. There's a few icons missing, but overall it works. Ill try and do the missing icons as soon as I figure out how! :)

Yes, they work, but some seems to be not transparent. For example the Icon for the Song Properties.
But they look nice =)

Thanks a lot! They are installed on both MM2 and MM3

I suggest you change the thread title from MM2.x to MM2+3 :)
