Stop after scrolling jumps view
Usability problem that I would love to see fixed.
In just about any view, if you scroll down a list by holding the left mouse pointer on the scrollbar, and then let go when you see a song you're looking for, after you let go the view jumps. It should ideally stay pegged to where it was before you released the left mouse button.
I see this using the latest (3.0.1.1127) free version.

I can't get it NOT to produce this on my system. Any pane I scroll by holding down the mouse button and moving the mouse jumps a little when I release the mouse button.
I thought perhaps it was due to my Logitech USB mouse that has a scrollwheel in it, so I unplugged it, plugged in a PS-2 style mouse and rebooted, but I have the same problem.
I've noticed that if I move my mouse horizontally before letting go that it will do the same jump at that point, so then it DOESN'T jump when I let go. Don't know if that helps or not.
Let me know if there's anything else I can try. Right now most of my scrolling is under the Location tree, and I've got a Album art view with details pane up. If a screen shot would help I guess I could do that.
Thanks for listening.

i get the same problem
it's really jarring, especially because i have a huge library. i finally find something, then let go and completely lose it again. pain in the ass.

Is it only in the Album art views? I rarely use those, so maybe thats why I haven't seen it? I have never seen anything like this in the details view.

I can't.. the scrolling works exactly as I would expect it to: it stops scrolling when I let go of the arrow in the scrollbar. I've tried with lists from 50 through ~1200 tracks, but I still can't see this.MoDementia wrote:If you "really" can't produce this effect then we need to pick your brains big timenohitter151 wrote:I can't reproduce this.. what are the exact steps to reproduce?

Hmm perhaps I can create a filter to restict it to ~1200 tracks and test it
Maybe there is a point (nbr tracks) where it becomes a problem
[edit] LOL I can't even set up the search criteria on album artists with out the list jumping when I release the scroll

I used a filter to reduce the list to ~500 tracks
The effect is significantly reduced but has not gone
@ 500 tracks moves maybe 1-3 tracks
@ 9000 tracks moves half a page or more
@nohitter I think if you concentrate on what the list looks like at a stop before you release the slider you will notice a slight jump

Ok, I see it now. I misunderstood, I thought the OP meant if you hold down the scroll arrow key, then let go of it, not the slider.MoDementia wrote:I used a filter to reduce the list to ~500 tracks

I guess I never really noticed this since I try to avoid going to those big lists and I otherwise use the scroll wheel on my mouse.
