New MediaMonkey web site

Post by rusty »

Welcome to our new site. It's still a work in progress but we hope you like it. Special thanks to the Dave and Levi at Clever Starfish --they've done a great job!

Some of the changes are:
-cleaner look and updated content
-integration with trialpay (so you can get MM Gold for free)
-blog/news subscriptions
-phpbb3
-localized purchase process via the client for most languages
-tighter integration with the wiki

Still to come:
-look and feel integration for the wiki, eSupport, and store
-localized web pages
-dynamic addons site (to replace the current static pages)

If you have any feedback or notice any problems, please let us know. Thx.

-Rusty

MM Team,

Wow! I love the new look. Though I'm sure the site's new look will stir up some controversy, I think that it's a great change that can hopefully gather some more attention for a great program. I'm very much looking forward to the dynamic add-ons site (as I'm sure many others are!). Keep up the good work, devs!

Taking me a while to get used to the new site but overalll great work.
Sorry, I don't like either of the 2 forum themes, the default is quite dark and the other blinded me (and is missing all the extras) :P

I think this may be an issue for many searches.
Its hard to talk about MM without using a heap of "common" words.
Information

The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: album art now playing.
You must specify at least one word to search for. Each word must consist of at least 3 characters and must not contain more than 14 characters excluding wildcards.

MM appears to have gone legit! I felt bad when I finally left the leather jacket in the back of my wardrobe, but I suppose everyone has to grow up some time. Always too soon.

(And more emoticons should have been added - something like head-bashing "frustration", etc.)

so a new site just what was needed. but this is a little strange? the url to the previous forum pages you move to are no longer on the top of the page, not that i can find anyway? so i have to hit the back button. this is a pain for people using full screen all the time.

but the new site has lots of contrast. a little much some times i would not have minded the use of black and gray with suttle tones of gray used and no white.

Great job all! Might take some getting used to, but it looks pretty slick and will be good for the long run.

My thoughts also. Default is too dark for me, and the other is blinding. I hope there is something in between coming.

The "Mark topics read" link is now on the right hand side at the top far away from everything else.

I think it could be better positioned.

Great to see that people like the new site. As said earlier there is still some major features coming soon and some small design changes. However, the new integration between the site and the forum is great!
Best regards,

Nice, I like it, though the new forum style will take some getting used to. Could we have avatars turned on now, please? 8)
