Information about a CD disappear

Post by Guest »

I'm running MM Gold 3.0.4 on Vista on my new laptop, and for some reason the CD reset to blank fields for all tracks after I've fetched info from Freedb. If I've edited a track with *title* only, this also disappar, but if I've added *Artist* it stays (for that track). This happen every 20-40 secs, so if I'm quick, I can rip the CD, but otherwise this is a bummer!

I don't know if it's MM or Vista that screws up, but I've turned off all autofunctions for the CD/DVD drive in Vista. Vista is updated with the latest patches. This is a LG laptop I'm using.

Bump!: Information about a CD disappear

Post by moot.point »

I just hit the same issue with MediaMonkey v3.1.0.1256.
Some pointers as to how to find out what else could be resetting the CD drive would also be appreciated. (Assuming that some other program causes MediaMonkey to believe that the CD in the drive has changed.)

I had been using EAC for all my ripping before, but in the latest release FreeDB access is broken. - And I haven't had time yet to dig out an older release. :-?

Your help would be much appreciated,
Malte

@Guest
Try to replicate with MM 3.1

@moot.point
Try to add Cd into MM library and then Fetch FreeDB data prior to initiate RIP. (Note: You can always delete CD from library after you RIP it)

Hello,

I have the same issue here.

MM 3.1.0.1256, Vista64

Even if "Query Freedb automatichally (when connected)" is disabled the issue occures.

Reproduction:
- Insert an Audio-CD
- Titles "Track 01", "Track 02" etc are shown.
- Select "Get Album Info from Freedb"
- The album info appears correctly
- After the album info has appeared, wait 6-8 seconds
- The album info disappears. Titles "Track 01", "Track 02" etc are shown again.

No matter how often I try, it always happens. It makes no difference, if the cd is identified automatically of if one has to select a freedb entry.

I have been having the same issue. Running MM 3.2.0.1294 under Vista.

I can pull freedb info for CD but it resets to empty tracks after a few seconds. If I can press the burn CD button quick enough it works but its very annoying.

Anyone know of a fix?

Thanks

Fix for Win7 is here (Something similar will probably work with Vista): http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 42#p282348
