REQ: Lockscreen widget + Folder structure [#9169]

Actually, if it isn't possible to have rating stars show on the 4x2 widget, would it be possibe to maybe have them on a larger widget with more of the commonly used features on the screen, or maybe have some of the buttons user confugurable from a selected options list

Rating are great when you use them. Having them at hand is even better.

The 4x2 widget has room to add stars so we can quicky rate songs.

I would love to see that.

Also it seem that event if its 4x2 the widget's height is smaller than other widget and could be a bit higher.

Thank you devs for adding the lockscreen widget. It would be fantastic if the lockscreen widget also showed album art. I love that feature in PowerAmp.

But i thought the reason for the lockscreen widget was for safer control while driving,?
Wouldn't looking at album art defeat the reason for the widget ?

I don't stare at or study the album art. If anything, seeing the album art in a quick glance saves me from reading the what the album name and artist is. I think it is safer.

Is the lockscreen widget that the dev team is considering a native Jellybean (4.2.1) lockscreen widget? Or would it be a "hack" widget like others? (I'm assuming here that other lockscreen widgets that aren't native are "hacks")

PlayerPro put together a really great lockscreen widget. That is definitely what you should aim for !!!

It allows:

- Landscape & portrait
- Rating
- Turning on repeat and shuffle
- adjusting volume
- displays album art very nicely
- has all the normal, play, pause, and skip buttons

It really allows you to use your phone as a fully functional media device without ever having to unlock it.
This is really nice for when you plug it in at a party and want people to be able to skip tracks but not get into your phone.

- Also, they have options within the main app that let you turn these additional functions on and off. (important for if you want people to be able to play music, but not mess with the ratings on your songs)

I have been using MMA quite a bit and am quite pleased with it. The other day I thought I would open up PowerAmp just for the fun of it, and I was so impressed with the lockscreen widget. It adds so much wow factor to be able to see the album artwork on the lockscreen widget. Any chance of that in MMA?

As stated the Lockscreen widget is Android 4.2+ only for now as anything older requires a hack. It will be looked in for a future version.

Again i say then why do i have the lock screen widget on my phone, i've done no hacking to it.

Yes, I believe we are talking about two different things. There are the new lockscreen widgets that were added in Android 4.2, and there is the lockscreen widget that MMA already has as a feature. I am simply asking that album artwork be added to the current lockscreen that MMA has.
