no sync of song rating MMW <-> MMA

Hi,

the sync MMW <-> MMA works. But no song rating!?

Basics: MMW 4.1.5.1719 / Windows 7 / MMA 1.0.7.0311 / Sony Z3c / android 4.4.4

Which way does it fail MMW > MMA or MMA > MMW. The latter will require the option to sync back metadata to be enabled in the Device Profile.

MMW>MMA: approx. 70% is correct, but 30% has no ratings after sync
MMA>MMW: nothing will be sync. No ratings, no tag changing
I have to enable it in the device Profile? In MM is no option in the settings.

Ihave a Sony Z3c with android 4.4.4 and I sync via USB.

In MMW in the Device Profile for the device is the option for sync settings from MMA to MMW.

ok, this already was activated, before the sync.

If you're doing a wifi sync send a debug log from MMA (from About screen) right after sync. If you're doing a USB sync send a debug log (step 4b) from MMW: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=26&t=69

I found that WiFi sync would sync ratings from MMA -> MMW, but not USB sync.

MM tech guy seemed to imply that music stored on internal memory would sync OK.

They're (hopefully) working on a fix.

ok, thank you for the information.
But also MMW->MMA approx 1/3 of the ratings are not transferred to the smartphone. (by USB)

I have also found that the metadata would sync on wifi from MMA > MMW but not the other way around, unless synched over USB. And even then not all the ratings make it to MMA, most do though. Is there a fix being worked on for the meta synch over wifi or am I missing a setting somewhere. Thanks.

Same problem...

I use my phone to rate songs in MMA and have always had them update automatically whilst syncing until recently. "Auto-sync metadata from the device to the PC" has always been checked so I'm not sure what changed and cannot for the life of me figure out why this changed... I tried both wifi and usb syncing and no change/difference. I got so fed up I cut and pasted all the music from my phone to a folder on my pc in order to try and salvage the ratings later and just started over with a fresh sync. If I'm able to sync ratings after this new sync I will update.

Related issue:
I synced several times recently trying to troubleshoot this issue and wound up with a TON of duplicate files on both PC and Phone. Any ideas why this would happen? I was playing around with the settings trying to fix the ratings issue so I could've caused this by accident but I have no idea how...

IDK how but it worked!

What I did:
1- Plug in phone via usb
2- Cut and paste all music from phone to a folder on my desktop (i don't think this has anything to do with the problem or solution but nonetheless...)
3- Open MMA and MMW and sync desired folders to phone with "auto-sync metadata..." checked

That's it

All ratings were synced back as if I hadn't deleted all music from my phone in step 2. I have no idea why this happened. My main goal was to get rid of all the duplicate files (see previous post) and I was hoping for a xmas miracle and got one! Hopefully I don't have to do this each time I sync, lol
