When in "all tracks" view, If the filter (advanced search) is off and I want to click it to "on", fine. But I can't click it back to off.
There may be another way, but shouldn't it just be simple?

Re: 2075: Advanced Search Filter?
I think you are looking for this button:
The one one the right doesn't actually trigger anything, it just brings up (or hides) the filter bar, I'm therefore not sure if I agree that it should reset an active filter.
But I believe you bring up a good point. It might not be communicated clearly (enough) what the user needs to do to reset an active filter. I found the solution with making the filter icon in the breadcrumb bar clickable quite elegant, but that doesn't mean that it's neccessarily what a user expects. What might add to that confusion is that the filter segment on the breadcrumb bar behaves differently than the other nodes before it - you can trigger an action by clicking the reset filter icon, but the same isn't true for the icons next to Music and All tracks.
Maybe either somehow highlighting the reset button and/or adding a reset button directly on the filter bar would help reduce the confusion.

Re: 2075: Advanced Search Filter?
Thanks for your insight.
Ok, basically that's it. But I was looking for something like the larger, generalized filter icon to the right of that. It works for me.
But that's not really what I'm referring to.
Music > all tracks (shows only tracks at this point) > go to upper far right simple search > type in an artist > at this point "only tracks" drops down lower and at the top
is the word Artist, with an artist image just below and below that is the word Album with album images related to the albums that were brought up by the search term.
Now, when in that state, to the upper right (but still within the file list area) is three options "filter:off", "My Library", "Online"
"filter:off" is the version of the filter option I'm referring to. That's what seemed to be clicking on but not back off.
Anyway, I figured out what the problem is. It's a precision issue.
If it's in the default off state, you have to point the cursor anywhere on the line (or slightly above) to get the little mouse pointer hand to switch it.
However, once it's switched on, it doesn't turn into a hand if right on the line/words. You have to go slightly above the line to get the hand to switch it back off.

Re: 2075: Advanced Search Filter?
This filtering is supposed to be persistent between views and so the icon only hides the filtering UI. To cancel it, the easiest way is to click the icon in the breadcrumbs navigation.

Ok, but what about the larger filter icon to the right. Does that only hide it or is it capable of cancelling as well?jiri wrote:To cancel it, the easiest way is to click the icon in the breadcrumbs navigation.
Ok, but regardless of its purpose it should still work correctly. Are you seeing what I described about it being imprecise?jiri wrote:This filtering is supposed to be persistent between views and so the icon only hides the filtering UI.

Re: 2075: Advanced Search Filter?
It only hides the filtering UI, but the filter remains (intentionally) active. Looks like a good idea to me, but we're certainly open to a discussion re. this.Does that only hide it or is it capable of cancelling as well?
OK, now I understand, yes, it's really a bug, thanks! Are you seeing what I described about it being imprecise?

Re: 2075: Advanced Search Filter?
Thx. The "Filter: on" click-ability will be fixed in the next build.
