[REQ] Sort Albums by Date of Release [#11293]

Love the mobile app, been using it since release. Been using the desktop version for years as well. Bought gold for both.

One feature I would like to see is the ability to sort albums by chronological release order once I select an artist.

It would also be fantastic if the Playlist continued to populate the next chronological album's tracks, for continuous uninterrupted playback.

Right now, when I select "Artist & Album Artist," then select a specific artist, the screen displaying the albums by that artist/album-artist displays the albums alphabetically instead of by date of album release. I would like at least the option to view the albums by release date.

And yet, nothing has been done. I have artists in my collection with several decades' worth of albums, so it's disorienting that they're in alphabetical order, when the expected behavior is to see album sort by date. Ideally, this would be implemented by displaying albums by sorted by date, descending, so newest are on top.

I'm using the beta release channel on Android, and my current version of MMA is 1.3.6.0881.

Under Artist -> Albums in MMA, MMW, MM5 albums are always sorted alphabetically and it was always like that.

Anyway I have tested and it should be considered for future MM5 and MMA versions and I added it as https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=16004

There should also be an option to sort by original date.

Additional sorting capability is slated for MMA 2, which is slated for after MediaMonkey 5. So it will be a while still till all these MMA 2 features will be available.

Wow! MediaMonkey Mobile version 2.0 is now released. So is this feature now available? If so, how do I sort by release date?

Unfortunately sorting did not make it into 2.0, but it is still planned.
