2262: Today mm5 opened with different settings [#16888]

TOday it opened with the default skin and layout. It closed down correctly last night so that is not the issue.

Hello there,

i did a portable installation of the new build 2262 and this time at least some of the personalized layout were not present anymore. So i can confirm what dtsig is speaking about. The image size of the album art was set back to 100 % and in the preview my setting "artwork only" was overwritten or ignored.

edit: in my auto-playlists my personalized entries and order of the colums is set back too. The Player was set back too in position and in appearance. And i cannot copy and paste playlists any longer (may not be the same cause).

Are you saying updating lost those settings (if so from which version) or that when starting 2262 again these settings were lost?

I have to add another item. The update from 2261 to 2262 took all my own hotkeys.

another thing i notice today ... i have lost the waveform seekbar. Not sure what it was called but where the seek bar shows as a wave form of the song. How to get this back?

Right click > Customize Player and enable Waveform bar from options (or Tools > Options > Player).

Hi, this has also just started happening to me - UI & other settings getting reset - after the recent 2262 beta.

Each time, I've been able to restore my settings from my iDrive cloud backup - this has happened to me twice so far - and been able to get on my way again.

From the looks of it, on my machine at least, it seems the persistent.json in "C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey5" gets reset somehow, and restoring an older version of this file, also restores my previous settings again.

Using MM5 today (still 2262) was such a surprise. All my individual settings are gone again ....

Guys, as long as you leave the integrity of my music files all is okay, because it is still a Beta. Still i like MM 5 to open how i want it to open .

If it helps finding the error: I have got a second portable installation with all my Jazz and Pop and Rock stuff. Of course in another directory. I did not open that second installation (which is still 2261 by the way) in the last days, but today before i opened the mm5 2262.

So you have two portable installations (first 2261 and second 2262) and after you've run 2261, your settings from 2262 is lost ? Do you have defined custom database name ? ini file in default location ?

No, i don't share a database. Last time i have edited the ini.file was maybe with Mediamonkey 2 or 3 .

i only can say that I did not use the 2261 for several days. But the strange behaviour started nontheless after updating the classical 2261 to 2262. Maybe it is just a coincidence without any relation.

I could update the rock/pop 2261 to 2262 too and we will see if the strange behaviour of 2262 will stop.

For what it's worth, I think my settings-reset-bug in 2262 may be triggered, when I leave MM5 open after I restart, or shutdown, my PC.
