[SOLVED] Suddenly can no longer verify rip with MediaMonkey Gold

Post by sallygr »

All of a sudden I keep getting the verification message "Trackxx.cda failed to verify, there is a problem with your internet connection". This has happened now for 4 CDs in a row.

My Internet connection is working fine, including when accessing the online database for titles, etc. with MediaMonkey. I've tried using 2 different CD drives for ripping (although that shouldn't matter since it's obviously the HD version that is being verified), rebooting my computer, rebooting my modem/router. Nothing helps, and I never had this problem until about 3 or 4 hours ago.

In case it matters, I'm ripping to flac files. But that's what I've always done. Nothing in my set-up has changed. I upgraded to the latest version of MediaMonkey Gold (4.1.28.1905) recently, but verification was working fine until this afternoon, even with the new version. I'm running Windows 7 Pro.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Now resolved!!!

In playing around with things late last night, I discovered that I couldn't get into the website www.accuraterip.com, so I installed a vpn on the computer (I have one that I use on a different computer, but since it slows things down I didn't have it on this one). I was then able to access the website www.accuraterip.com AND to get the rip to verify. So I was being blocked for some reason. TODAY I can now access the website www.accuraterip.com and verification works WITHOUT the vpn. So I don't know why I was being blocked, but that's what was causing the error message. And if it happens again, I'll use the vpn.

Hi,
It is very possible that there was some DNS issue on your ISP so www.accuraterip.com was not resolved correctly.

Anyway thx for update.

Can MM5 use this to rip CDs? I used to use DBPowerAMP which uses it.

For example, to use AccurateRip in MM5 would require some configuration beyond whatever the defaults are?

You need to have verify ripped tracks enabled in the Rip dialog, which is the same in MM4.
