Re: suddenly MM will not sync with iPhone via Installed (non-app) iTunes [#16934]
I am using MediaMonkey version 4.1.29.1910, which is the latest update available. My iPod touch 7 recently updated to 14.0 and iTunes updated to version 12.10.9.3 the same day and now I can't use MediaMonkey to manage the music on my iPod. Every time I try to connect my iPod, I get the error message that I need to use the desktop version not the windows version of iTunes, but I AM using the desktop version. I saw a link in a previous post indicating that this had been reported, but when I view it, it shows the issue as resolved and it's not resolved. As of right now, I cannot use MediaMonkey. I hope someone is still investigating this and working on a solution because I love MediaMonkey and recommend it to everyone I know who has an iPod or an iPhone.

For MediaMonkey 4 a new release with a fix is available: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... 75#p472875
For MediaMonkey 5 you'll need to wait till build 2268 or newer is released to Beta here: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... 86639&sd=d

Thank you! This solved the problem and I can use MediaMonkey again! It's so much better than iTunes.Lowlander wrote: ↑Wed Sep 23, 2020 3:17 pm For MediaMonkey 4 a new release with a fix is available: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... 75#p472875

Re: suddenly MM will not sync with iPhone via Installed (non-app) iTunes [#16934]
Lowlander, is it generally safe for a MM user to update with the latest fix, or is it preferred to fall back on a prior production release? How often, if ever, would a serious problem be introduced by the MM version with the latest fix, which is assumed to include other fixes? (My sysdev days lead me to believe that a non-production release can be buggy.)
Thx, and regards.

ITgreybeard : MM Lifetime Gold on Win10Pro, always the latest production release unless noted otherwise. My carryaround is an AMD-based Lenovo Yoga 6 w 8c/16t, 16GB mem and .5 TB ssd. NAS is an Intel-based Lenovo X1 Yoga Gen3 with 4c/8t, 16GB mem and .5TB ssd running Win10Pro, with many storage volumes (40TB) attached via Thunderbolt 3. Other towers and laptops can chime in as called for.

MediaMonkey 4 is getting very limited updates, so any releases should be safe. However if you're not needing to sync to an iOS device you can hold off till a final release.
I strongly recommend backing up the database file anyway: http://mediamonkey.com/support/index.ph ... ey-library

Hi,
Latest MMW 4.1.30.1912 should address this and should be official release soon.

Good here too. The fix definitely incorporates the solution. Thank you!

Desktop iTunes
None of the links on the relevant Knowledgebase page about desktop iTunes seem to work and I can't find the correct download anywhere. Have Apple given up on this and rolled over to the Store version for everyone?
Also, when I pulug in my iPhone Mediamonkey (4.1.29.1910) runs automatically (twice) is unresponsive and has to be quit from the Task Manager.

Re: Desktop iTunes
Just upgraded to the beta 1912 version of MediaMonkey and it's OK again - must be Apple messing around and breaking things again!

Go to the apple itunes page again (https://www.apple.com/itunes/) and find "Looking for other versions? macOS Windows" down the page. Click on the Windows link, and see that a version of the page you were on now has a "Download iTunes for Windows now (64-bit)" button/link towards the bottom of the display. That will get you what you need. OK?

For me the KB article http://www.mediamonkey.com/devicesync goes to http://oldsvr.mediamonkey.com/support/? ... /View/139/
and the '64-bit version' link in the article goes to https://www.apple.com/itunes/download/win64 which downloads the correct installer iTunes64Setup.exe (that has around 200 MB and is the iTunes desktop version).
Aren't you seeing the same?

Unable to connect MediaMonkey to iPhone 7
Hi there
Not sure if this is a common issue, but searched the board and couldn't find a match.
I have the follwoing: -
- iPhone 7 s/w ver = 13.5.1
- iTunes ver = 12.10.9.3 (full version, not windows store version)
- MediaMonkey ver = 4.1.29.1910
MediaMonkey sees my iPhone but says I need to install the desktop version of iTunes.... I have the latest version of both iTunes Desktop and Mediamonkey....
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
