Best Non FIIO audio device that works well with Mediamonkey?

Post by divilsp33d »

So as the question says also, I currently have a Fiio M7 but it keeps giving my never-ending grief. So any recommendations would be welcome.

Price Range from £0-250 I'll say, though prefer to keep it below £200. No camera.

Hi,
Unfortunately I have not tested anything in that range recently Last ones I have tested are Sony NW-A1xx Series and they are above 250 :(

Looks like main issue is GPS (Google Play Services) licensing and validation.

I am very happy with the Sony NW-A105 as it has an Android system and you can run MediaMonkey for Android on it. I also use the Audible app for audiobooks.

Thinks to consider are:
- You will need a MicroSD card for your music as the 16GB internal memory is nearly completely filled up with other stuff.
- The only thing I don't really like is the quite small battery on it, I estimate that after about listening to 6 h of music it is empty but I can live with it.

How would you say Battery Life is compared to the Fiio m7. Bearing in mind I like to mostly use it paired with bluetooth?

I don't own a Fiio, so unfortunately I can't compare them. But my 6h estimation is also with a Bluetooth connection.
I also own a Sony NW-A35 which runs on a Sony system, not Android, which has a few details I don't like (e.g. it only can be used with a specific Sony USB cable). But its battery life is way longer.

Oh ok. 6hrs is reasonable for bluetooth. not as long as the Fiio m7 but manageable. looking at the interface seems cleaner than the fiio.

The display is pretty good but not very big and the system on Android works just like a smartphone, but without phone  .

Ok Thanks for the Advice Everyone. Got the A-105 Sony Walkman, and the sync is a lot easier, feels smoother as well. I'll see how it does on a days work on Tuesday.

I'm new to this but I'm really enjoying my Sony NW-A105 so far. It eats power fast if WiFi and BT are turned on, especially if all the Google cr*p is running in the background. I have ordered some wired buds - FiiO FD3 Pros which will help with the Wifi drainage.

Next I'll look at getting rid of the Google stuff.

To amke MM work without Google stuff you need to install MAM from Amazon store and purchase Pro on Amazon Store.
