MM5 Has started asking if I want to replace existing files at the end of ripping a CD. It is doing this if I am ripping a CD of an Artist that is alread in the system. If I say no it doesn't add the new files.
Problem started after I lost everything. Was using an external hard drive and my backup. Didn't know I had to tell my back up system (Norton) to back up the the external HD. Anyway the external hard drive died. Can't get into it. Was where I stored MM and Pictures. Re loaded MM and a lot of music came back with it, but a lot of it will not play. Got back 26K out of 34K files. After removing none playing files was down to 8K. Program will only accept new files with new artisit.????

Hi,
So sorry to hear that happened. I suspect that Destination mask in ripping dialog is incorrect and needs to be adjusted and thus you get conflicts in names.
May I suggest that you open support ticket where we can try to help you more directly?
In my experience no hard drive actually can die.
